ECAT 2014 Registrations


Dates to Remember:

  • Registration starting from July 14, 2014.
  • Last date to register for ECAT : August 11, 2014
  • Date of Test: August 24, 2014
  • Announcement of Result: August 31, 2014
How to Apply:
You can apply online or by visiting the test center.

Online process:

  • Fill the form given on the link: UET admissions 
  • After completing the form get a print out of your application form and the challan form.
  • Submit the challan from in any HBL branch.
  • 2 or 3 days after submitting the fee the admit card will be added to the website which you can download.
By Visiting Test Center:


  • Fill the form given on the link above and get the challan form and submit it.
  • Visit the test center in which you want to appear.
  • Carry your CNIC or B-Form, two passport sized photographs and copy of challan form.
  • On submitting this material you will be provided the admit card at the spot.
About The Test:

There will be a total of 100 mcqs in the test.
  1. 10 English
  2. 30 Maths
  3. 30 Physics
  4. 30 Chemistry/Computer Science/Statistics
Time allowed for the test will be 100 mins. 4 mark for each correct answer and -1 for each wrong answer.
Note:
In English portion there will be only comprehension passage , from which 10 questions will be asked. 


Some commonly asked questions.

On basis of ECAT we can apply in which institutes?
Answer:
You can apply in all campuses of UET, the test is same for all however later on for admission process you have to apply separately for UET taxilla. Some other government institutes consider ECAT for admission in engineering programs like PU (university of Punjab) , UOG (university of gujrat).

What is the merit criteria of UET?
Answer:
70% Fsc and 30% test marks.

Will ECAT be held in provinces other than Punjab?
Answer:
No, it will be held only in various cities of Punjab.

NUMS

National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) Constituent Colleges: The existing medical colleges of the armed forces would come under the umbrella of this university i.e. Army Medical College (AMC) Rawalpindi Quetta Institute of Medical Sciences CMH Lahore Medical College  will be under NUMS and these will follow one standard course format. Why NUMS? One of the reasons to establish NUMS is to increase the intake of the army cadets.  NUMS Entry Test: Entry Test for above mentioned colleges will be conducted once a year. The test will be conducted in October - November. Those students who wish to apply on civilian seats or as paying cadets will have to appear in this test. Inverse of a Function In this Post I will discuss the method for finding the inverse of a given function from the 4 options as given in the Entrance tests of Engineering Universities. The very first step before finding the inverse is to make a check whether the function is One-to-One or not.  By One-to-One function we mean that function for example f(x) should not have the same value at two different values of x. In other words for each element of the Domain there should be a distinct element in the range. Check for One-to-One: A function which passes the horizontal line test is a One-to-One function. This means if a horizontal line is drawn it should not cross the function curve at more than one point.
