Registration for NET (NUST ENTRANCE TEST)



Dates and Deadlines:
The registration for NET-3 began on May 9, 2014 and the last date for the registration is June 15, 2014.
The Computer based tests are starting from June 14th and will end on July 6th. While the paper based tests are on 27th, 28th and 29th June only. The detailed schedule of the test is available on the website: https://ugadmissions.nust.edu.pk/

Registration process:
The registration process is online. You are to create an account on the website (https://ugadmissions.nust.edu.pk/) and fill the form. After completing the form a challan form will be added to your account , you have to get that printed and submit the fee in the bank. After submission of fee you have to enter the bank name and date of fee deposit in your account. When your fee will be received by Nust you will be asked to select a date of test from three of four dates provided to you by Nust. When you will select the date , admit card will be added to the account which is to be printed and carried at the time of test.

Suggestions for the Students:

1) Pre Engineering Students:
Students from this field can apply for all fields except MBBS, BDS, Bio-sciences. By other fields I mean all Engineering fields, Business Studies, Architecture , Industrial Design, BS Physics, BS Math. Some students think that except engineering all other fields have less scope and they might face job issues. This sort of thinking is totally wrong. One of the main reason why they are wrong is that they have very very little exposure to the market of the world. The world is a big place. Once you have a professional degree in your hands the market of entire world is open for you. What you need is the excellence in your field. As far as BS Math and BS physics are concerned after graduation in these fields one can continue the study and become a researcher. As far as pay rate is concerned the amount being received by researchers is a lot more than most of the engineers. So yes it is a good option to join these fields. Moreover while applying for Engineering programs if you select BS programs as well you have to pay no additional fee. 

2) Pre Medical Students:
Students from this field can apply for MBBS, BDS, Bio Sciences and Business Studies. About half of the students who apply for medical select bio sciences while others just ignore considering that this field has no good scope. And many students after finishing the registration process or after the result feel/regret that if they had selected this field they would have got admission. So instead of regretting afterwards it is better to take some action now. Plus you wont be charged if you are applying for Bio-sciences program along with MBBS and BDS. Select the field now, if you are selected and are not interested simply leave the seat.  Plus the number of seats for medical students are very less in Nust as well as in other medical colleges, so medical students should also keep some other fields as their second priority because no one is sure if he/she will get admission or not. So in this scenario business is a good option. This field always had a good scope. However if you are to apply for business studies you are to pay an additional 2500 fee.
